More than a stage of life, getting old is a universal phenomenon that unfolds into several dimensions – physical, psychological, social and cultural. With that theme at its core, “hOLD” takes shape from the experience of two professional dance performers, both near 50 years old, with a sensitive view of this transition, not only biological, but also social and with ethical and existential implications.
Between the desire to seize the moment and acceptance of the inevitability of change, this show explores ageing as fertile soil for the creation of new narratives and future representations, valuing the capabilities and contributions of the older generations within different contexts. “hOLD” attempts to seize time, just for a fleeting instant, to try and understand how to better move forward.
