One of the principal figures of the North American indie current – alongside names such as Olsen, Vile, Lenker and Gunn – Kevin Morby stands out among his peers for his musical versatility, poetic eloquence and the conceptualization of his work.
In little more than a decade of solo career, he has released seven studio albums. In recent years, his production and creativity have been showing signs of restlessness, for which we are indeed grateful: records that give way to other records, a movie soundtrack, official mixtapes, covers of Guided by Voices or Broadcast, among other achievements.
One of these achievements takes place exclusively in Portugal, where the Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho Ensemble joins Kevin Morby to perform some of his more recent repertoire on stage, elevating his music to other spheres and allowing us to better discover some of the intricate pieces of his supreme artistry in making songs.
